Gender Equality

The Welfare Kalka Foundation conducted a seminar on Mental Health and Gender Equality Awareness on 5th February 2026 at Vijay Singh Pathik School, Dadri, Greater Noida. The session was led by Yukti Gupta (Junior Psychologist), along with interns Navya Singh and Shreya Pandey. Around 30–40 students from classes 8th to 10th and two teachers actively participated.

The seminar aimed to educate students about mental health, emotional well-being, and common challenges faced during adolescence. It also highlighted the importance of gender equality, respect, and inclusivity in everyday life. The session was interactive, encouraging students to share their thoughts and experiences openly.

A key activity, the “Emotion Jar,” helped students express their feelings in a safe and creative way. Overall, the seminar successfully raised awareness, promoted empathy, and encouraged students to become more understanding and responsible individuals.

Background

Despite significant progress over the years, gender inequality continues to persist globally in areas such as education, employment, healthcare, and leadership roles. Cultural norms, systemic biases, and lack of awareness contribute to these challenges. This project was initiated to address these gaps by encouraging dialogue, promoting inclusivity, and supporting sustainable change toward gender equity.
